The Sun and Moon Harmony Serving Plate is created by Meizan Kiln, a Shigaraki-ware producer with over 400 years of history. Founded in 1622, Meizan Kiln’s first master, Ishino Isuke, was commissioned by the Tokugawa Shogunate to create tea jars, earning him the prestigious title of “Tea Jar Craftsman.”

Meizan Kiln’s artisans continue to craft each piece with exceptional care and skill, relying on intuition and the tactile feel of the clay. While meeting standardized specifications, every item carries unique variations that reflect the warmth of the artisan’s touch and the depth of traditional craftsmanship.
